A Simple Skin Care Regimen

Peace and Welcome Loyal Readers,

Thank you for joining us this week! Today we are simply talking about the importance of a basic skin care regimen. Now, if you are anything like me, where you missed out on that part of womanhood where the ladies in your life teach you about maintaining your feminine beauty, well then this article is going to be helpful for the both of us.

If you were lucky & got to spend time with the ladies in your life who understood the importance of caring for your skin & passed that knowledge on to you, please feel free to share your tips with us in the comments!

Lately, I have been looking for a way to pamper myself. Since I can't go out and enjoy a lovely massage, learning to take care of my hair & skin have been a wonderful way to reconnect with my self and provide my skin with a little TLC (tender, love & care). The benefits have been amazing! Its great to have a morning & night skincare regiment, but if this is new for you like it is for me, keep it simple & choose one part of the day to do it. This way over time it can become a natural practice for you.

First & foremost, always be sure to use products that are for your skin type, otherwise you won't get the effects that you are looking for. So research is an important first step!

Here are the 4 simple steps to follow:

Wash - Always tart by splashing your face with warm water or, if you must, wash with a gentle face cleanser designed for your skin type.

  • Remember to treat this part as a massage for your face so no rushing.
  • Be sure to pat your face dry afterwards.
Toner - It is meant to gently refresh your skin without stripping it of its natural moisture.
  • A toner also helps to shrink your pours.
  • Restores your skin's ph balance.
  • Adds a layer of protection.
  • Can prevent ingrown hairs.
Serum - A serum is typically thinner than a moisturizer, which is perfect for layering products. Serums can come in a variety of different formulas, including gels, oils, and light creams, and they can even have a water-like consistency in some cases.
  • Helps to minimize dark spots.
  • Brightens dull looking skin.
  • Reduces wrinkles.
  • Manages acne prone skin.
  • Great for hydrating when your moisturizer doesn't cut it.
Moisturizer - The moisturizer both locks water into the skin and absorbs water from the outside.
  • Can help the skin maintain its balance.
  • Reduce the appearances of blemishes.
  • Fights wrinkles.
  • Helps they skin stay young.

At the moment, I follow these four steps, after a nice shower & right before bed. I have learned to take my time so my skin has a chance to take in the benefits of the products I am using. I also take my time, because of the intention I am putting behind each step. I am pouring love and care back into myself after expending energy after a long day. After some consistency I began to see that my skin is clearer, softer & holds a natural glow.

During the day, I have begun to get into the practice at minimum of washing, toning & moisturizing my face. Now I see that my skin feels less oily & breaks out less! I have a confidence boost that I didn't have before. I used to tell myself that it didn't matter what I looked like so I didn't need to waste time on taking care or pampering my skin, but I was absolutely wrong! It is an absolute necessity to care for ones self! It took a simple skincare regimen to make me realize this. I was feeling refreshed, joyful & more connected with my inner feminine self. It is a fact that the love & care we pour back into ourselves that our minds, body & inner self will always find a way to reward us for it tenfold.

We hope that this has been helpful to you!
